December 2009 — "My spouse and I stopped in for lunch at Sookjai Thai one day when the place we had intended to eat at on Fort Street proved to be closed. It was a lucky circumstance that led us there for a delicious lunch. It's a small restaurant, simply decorated but warm & inviting. We were seated by the window to peruse their lunch menu. Both of us chose one of the lunch combos, which come with soup, 2 spring rolls, and your choice of entree. I had the Pad Thai, while my partner had Curry Chicken. The soup came quickly, and was the usual free soup in a thai restaurant: bits of celery and cabbage in a clear broth. Personally, I find this bland and unappetizing, but my companion enjoyed hers. Our entrees arrived quickly, and were of generous proportions. The Pad Thai was delicious, a perfect balance of lightly sauced noodles and condiments cooked well. The spring rolls are crisp and hot, filled with vegetables and served with sweet chili dipping sauce. My partner's chicken curry was rich and tasty. At just under $10 a person for more food than I could finish eating, this is a good lunch value."
