June 2011 — "I had Brunch at the Blue Crab yesterday, and overall I was satisfied. I had the clam chowder, and my wife and two boys each had the fish and chips. I sampled the fish and chips, and wish I had chosen that instead of the chowder. The fish was fresh and not too oily, and there were plenty of fries. My chowder, on the other hand, was too creamy for my taste, and topped with a mound of crispy-fried onions (I had to use and knife and fork to eat my soup!). The atmosphere is excellent, with unobstructed views of the inner harbour (perfect for a date). "

"A little OLD"

February 2010 — "My sweetheart took me to the Blue Crab for a surprise lunch one afternoon. It is located in the Coast Victoria Harbourside Hotel and Marina. It was the first time that I had been to the restaurant, and I was a little disappointed. We were the only ones there at lunch time on Saturday, which I found a bit surprising, aside from the very elderly couple beside us. They sat us in the corner, not at the big window in the front, even though there was room for us. The food was mediocre, we were only having lunch, but the food kinda reminded me of Pub food, however, I LOVED the caesars, and I could have stayed and drank them all day, perfectly spiced, and so delicious. Service was nice, our waitress must have been 65+ and I found it odd that she was still working, but she was smiling and pleasant the whole time. Perhaps dinner would be better, because I have heard great things about the place, and maybe next time we should be sure to reserve a table at the front window. I will try it again, so I couldn’t have been that bad."

"Delicious!"

February 2010 — "This restaurant is located right in our hotel that we stayed at recently. The hours are good as they open at 6:30a.m. We went in twice while staying there and really enjoyed sitting by the window looking out at the harbourside. Our server was always helpful and service was quick, although they suggest reservations, we did not have a problem getting seated. The clam chowder was so creamy and chuck full of tasty tender clams and lots of potatoes. It was very filling to me. My dining mate ordered the tempura battered fresh halibut and he loved it. His apple fennel slaw was unique and very tasty. We shared one of their fabulous desserts, there were five mouth watering items to choose from. The flourless chocolate cake was delicious and we finished it off with no problem. We went back late one evening and had a lovely cuppa and the night lights were wonderful. We will be back."

"Great Harbour Views"

February 2010 — "My fiance and I went to the Blue Crab for lunch on Valentines day, and was the first time for us both. The views here are fantastic, with big windows overlooking the harbour. It was for this reason that we made a point to go during the day which worked out great. We had both heard good reviews about the food, and to be honest were not overly impressed. It is possible that we were expecting far too much, but either way it was good not great. I had a seafood payeya risotto, which did have a lot of nice fresh seafood, but the risotto was a bit mushy. Again, risotto is a hard dish to get perfect, but when you are paying close to $20 for a lunch dish you do expect it to be close... Our server did a good job, but again I was not impressed. She did everything she needed to, but I am not sure if I saw a smile that morning or not. There are several great seafood restaurants in Victoria, and I think we will choose another next time we are in the mood. "
