January 2009 — "On this chilly winter day, four of us decided to watch the hockey game at the Sticky Wicket and order appy's. The Sticky Wicket is large with a few levels, and has many screens so most seats are good seats. The place was busy and we ordered drinks and a few appy's: chicken fingers and wings to share. Both appy's were delicious, as far as pub food goes. The strangest thing that arrived at our table was the honey mustard sauce for the chicken fingers. It was very light yellow in color and tasted like an odd version of mayonnaise. Did they forget the honey and mustard? Not sure but we switched that for plum sauce which was perfect. Our waitress was fantastic and we received our beers and food in good time. It's a great place to meet a few people and enjoy some yummy pub food. I would highly recommend it! "

August 2008 — "I friend & I were in the downtown core of Victoria and decided to go for a late lunch and glass or two of wine. Once inside this traditional English pub like restaurant, we picked a tall round table with stools by the window. We were attended to quickly by a friendly waitress. We selected one of the Australian chardonnays from a good variety of choices off the wine list. We asked a few questions in regards to the lunch menu and our waitress was able to answer the questions with honest educated answers. We both ordered the French onion soup with melted gruyere cheese. We dicided to share the spinach salad with strawberries and candied pecans. We both enjoyed our lunch and it was the perfect amount. The waitress was well trained and brought us extra plate for spliting the salad without having to ask. The lunch was around $45 including the wine & tip. It was not very busy for a Sunday afternoon. We would try this place again."

July 2008 — "After a heavy day of sightseeing in Victoria we weary tourists were looking for somewhere to recharge our batteries. We staggered into the Sticky Wicket with the promise of a beer and some good pub grub. This is a fully traditional English pub, and I can say this as a Brit who experienced a few pubs while in the land of my fathers. I am not a huge fan of city pubs anywhere but needs must and here I felt like I was back at home. Big TV screens showing sport and drunk gentlemen at the bar discussing important issues in loud voices completed the authenticity of the place. So, I ordered Pacific halibut and chips, which was cooked in an ale batter and with coleslaw, which again made me feel like I was back in the UK. The food was traditional pub food, nothing flash but just what the doctor ordered for me. For a true representation of a traditional city pub this is right on. "

April 2008 — "A co-worker and I recently stopped at the The Sticky Wicket for a beer and a snack. We enjoyed a game of darts (there were several boards), a couple of beers, and a plate nachos. The nachos were top-notch and the service was very good.
I'll definitely return."
