July 2010 — "I had never been to Dim Sum before, and I was told aver again that I really needed to go, that it was so delicious. I guess that everyone has different tastes, but I will not be going back to Dim Sum. The idea is that you go in and sit down and the food comes around on carts to you. You take whatever it is you want, and then the lady pushing the cart (who speaks no English) marks it down on a card on your table and you pay for the entire meal when you are done and ready to go. It is actually a neat concept, I like the idea, however, I did not know what I was getting, and I was turned off by the site of chicken feet. The food was very authentically Chinese, and I suppose I am a more Western Chinese food lover. I just had this feeling that the kitchen was not clean enough, that I could not be sure what meat I was eating and I didn’t like it. I didn’t try too much to be honest, because I had no appetite after seeing half of the items. My fiancé and best friend however, both love Dim Sum and could have eaten one of everything they offered, so I guess that means the food is good, but if you don’t like the thought of possibly eating a cat, then don’t go. I did however enjoy their honey buns."

July 2010 — "Don Mee's has been a Chinatown favorite for ever, period.
If you haven't been for Dim Sum before, it is a must, and Don Mee's is a good place to make it happen. Most Dim Sum items are steamed, which is a nice alternative to the often fried Chinese food. There is alot of dumplings, rice with pork, and some more odd items you may also want to try. Essentially they come around with carts, tell you what they have and you can pick and choose what you want after you see it. Usually it just a few dollars per dish, and they will just tick the appropriate box on your card.
Anyway, as far as Dim Sum goes, I am very happy with Don Mee's and will continue to go as the years pass. On our last visit we brought our 2 year old daughter, where the food was not overly well received... but worth a try right?!"

June 2010 — "I've been to Don Mee on a few occasions, and each time I left disappointed. The service is great, the atmosphere not bad, but the food is below par. I've had similar Chinese food at the food court. "

November 2009 — "It seems like this place is always crowded and has a long wait time. I've heard there are two dim sum restaurants in Victoria's Chinatown but I've only been to this one. They push around carts with dim sum dumplings and you pick and choose which ones to eat. The price is about the same as others I've been to, even compared to San Francisco.
A lot of the dumplings come with shrimp filling and after a while, they all taste very similar to each other. I recommend getting different kinds of meat and vegetable variations, even if you love shrimp as I do. We had these giant Timbit looking desserts, but to our surprise, they were empty in the middle. They was moist though, almost like the honey crueler Timbits."

Enjoy a traditional Chinese lunch (dim sum) or indulge in a Cantonese or Szechuan-style seafood meal for dinner at this restaurant located in Chinatown.
