June 2009 — "This restaurant is located on 5th Ave. SE. Upon entering, first impressions are that it is a bit more upscale than most Indian Restaurants. It wasn't very busy when we were there which was just fine because we were able to enjoy the serene atmosphere. The menu offers a good variety of dishes, and Nawab calls itself a Gourmet Indian food restaurant. I had the Murgh Masala, a chicken and onion dish, and it was very good. Most of the entrees are about $17, and although quite tasty, the food costs a bit more than many Indian restaurants. Being downtown among all the business crowd, they can probably do fine at those prices. However, I have to say that the beer prices are ridiculous. Seven dollars for a domestic bottle of beer?! I can't justify that even on a hot day! Starters go for between $8 and $16, and at about $8 or $9 dollars a glass, wine is at par for many restaurants in Calgary. In conclusion, this restaurant serves very good food but prices are a bit more than typical. "

November 2008 — "Exquisite meal... Authentic and Delicious. Make sure to end with the Gulab Jamin. The service was great and the chef even came out to chat and give me a free taste of one of his family recipes (it wasn't busy when we went so I don't know whether this was normal or not). I can't say whether this was the best in Calgary as I have not eaten at all the other titles listed here but I can say I left both full and happy"

October 2008 — "Excellent food. Great service characteristic of a family run business. Ambiance is uncharacteristically cool and classy for an Indian restaurant. Moved here from Vancouver and would put this experience on par with Vij's in Vancouver, which is Canada-famous. We'll be back again. "
