February 2011 — "I just attended a friend’s birthday party at Aussie Rules and it was nice to have a different experience. It was extremely busy and my friend said she had to make reservations almost six months in advance. The duelling piano players let people choose random songs for them to play and they would sing their hearts out getting the crowd involved. There were tons of people standing on their chairs dancing and singing along. It did seem like you needed to be at least a bit intoxicated to fit in though. The service however, was the worst I have experienced in quite some time. I asked six times to get a glass of water and when she finally did remember, there was no apology at all. The food was quite bland and unoriginal but the prices were appropriate. I personally would never arrange a function at Aussie Rules due to the poor food and service, but I wouldn’t refuse to go if I was invited to a function there again. "

February 2008 — "Aussie Rules is a great place to go for a party, especially for a birthday or a stagette. The pianists play a wide range of music for several hours. They interact with the audience throughout the night and even bring people up on stage at times. The pianists are also quite funny!
The one thing I don't quite get about the place is the Australian theme. I am a strong believer that if you use a theme you need to follow it completely in order for it to work. As an Australian I thought they would have a menu full of popular Aussie cuisine, there wasn't anything Australian on the menu. It was just your typical pub food with the occasional Aussie slang mixed in the description as an attempt to make the food sound Australian. The theme seemed like an afterthought."

September 2006 — "I just went to Aussie Rules for a friend's stagette party and must say, it was an experience I will forever remember. It was absolutely packed and the entertainment was very.... entertaining. They have dueling pianos and the musicians can play and sing virtually any popular song from the 1990s and older. We ordered some food, the appetizer platter, and it was pretty good. The wings were gross though, but the calamari and ribs were great. The beer was reasonably priced and you can't beat the atmosphere. Everyone gets up on their chairs and dances and sings... you definitely need to drink quite a bit to make the experience that much better. Next time I need to plan a party for some reason, I will definitely think of taking a group to Aussie Rules. Be careful though, you need to make reservations at least 6 weeks in advance!! "

September 2006 — "I've never had more fun at a bachelorette party than at Aussie Rules this weekend. I've never been here before and had heard it was good, but it really was something else. The bar is huge inside with plenty of tables, but it was packed. I guess for the weekend you need to book weeks in advance. And it seems to be popular for bachelorette parties as there were at least three others. So what happens is that there are two guys on stage playing pianos, playing requests from the audience. It is evident that the more you tip, the more likely your song will be played ($20!!!). You've never heard ACDC until you hear it on piano. The audience sings along, screams, cheers, drinks. It's just a good time. It's well ventilated so not too smokey. We had an appetizer platter for about $25, and it was okay. Drink prices are also fair, under $6 for a martini which is pretty good. There's a $5 cover charge, which also wasn't too steep. Our server was awesome. I don't know how she kept all our drinks straight."
