January 2011 — "I have heard wonderful things about Sugo, a genuine Italian fine dining establishment nestled in the heart of Inglewood, and my experience reflected those reviews. While small, Sugo's owners have done wonders to create an intimate and romantic space that begs to be experienced. Unique art, a contemporary colour scheme, soft background music and linens set the tone. At the back is a lovely little wine bar where solo eaters can relax with wine and enjoy the company of the staff. The light is lovely during the day and proves to be a great time to sample the lunch menu. Sugo offers a creative array of foods within reasonable prices for the lunch crowd (around $8 and up). There is always a soup of the day, several interesting salads, pasta, tasty flatbreads, and full entrees. I chose the the chicken breast Milanese with sauteed mushrooms for $19. It was DELICIOUS...there was enough food to satisfy, the mushrooms were juicy and tender, and the sauce was to die for. I finished my meal with a smooth cappucino ($4). The server was friendly and attentive, the restaurant spotless, and the meal incredibly satisfying. I never felt rushed to finish, and there is no doubt I will go back again. Thank you Sugo for offering a quality restaurant! "

April 2008 — "I must say the food was incredible. I tried the salmon and couldn't get over how moist it was. Presentation was great, and portion size was just right. Not enough to make you feel bloated after your meal and just enough that you weren't still hungery after your plate was empty.
It had a very romantic setting, although if the front part of the restaurant had more tables filled up, you may get the feeling that you're dining with the table beside you.
My only complaint was with our waitress. She seemed preoccupied and not very talkative at all, however she did get her job done. (We never had a dry drinking glass.) The other staff members that attended to us were very cheerful and helpful.
I would definatly go back to Sugo, especially for their house wine. Best I've had! Music was awesome too."

March 2008 — "This is my second time dining at Sugo, located in Inglewood. First off, I really enjoy the look and feel of the restaurant. It's trendy but casual.
We started off with a smoked pork and apple pizza drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Great flavor combinations and I liked the crispiness of the crust. I would have preferred a little more salt but still a very good choice. For the main course I had the salmon with an apple pear caponata-very moist and I really enjoyed the pairing of the fish with the sweetness of the caponata. My friend ordered the wild boar chop served with a fig compote-very good. Other pluses: Good plate presentation, nice portion size (not too much but not too little), good location (next door is a dessert bar-bonus).
Food is prepared to order so there was a bit of a wait but well worth it. The waiter was friendly and kept us updated on when the food would be out. "

December 2007 — "Four of us went to Sugo for the New Years Eve Dinner (Set Menu). Had a reservation but we had to wait for our table (no wine sampling offered while we waited - even Earls does this) We were seated without an apology for the wait and the first course served was an assortment of antipasto. The waiter just put it on our table with no explanation of what the selection was and walked away. No warning that there were some very hot items, and one table mate stuggled with the intensity of an item. Main course was nice, but one of us received a very fatty piece of meat, and by the time he had cut it all away, it left him with a very small peice of beef. When it was pointed out to the waiter, he did not provide with a better cut, so one of us ended up giving him some of our own portion. Dessert was apple pie with carmel sauce and ice cream? Some of the worst pastry I have ever tasted - even with the carmel sauce and ice cream, it was still dry. Waited forever to get a coffee. Any other Italian restaurant of this caliber would have made the meal more of an event, or at least describe to us what we would be served that evening since it was a set menu. Bottom line, there are several Italian joints in Calgary, not to try a little harder, we were disapointed and will not go back. "

DescriptionSugo has a rustic Italian ambiance. Their menu changes daily, but features items such as sea bass, beef tenderloin medallions, and linguini with clams and mussels in a pesto cream broth. They offer such desserts as tiramisu and ricotta stuffed crepes with fresh strawberries and Grand Marnier. They are open for lunch Wednesday to Friday and for dinner Tuesday to Saturday.
